Jen (00:00.876)
Welcome to the Mum Safe Movement podcast. I'm your host, Jen Dugard, and today you've got me doing a solo episode. So I've been diving into all of our analytics inside the podcast so I can see how many people have downloaded, how many episodes you've listened to, how many episodes have been listened to, which ones are our most popular ones, which ones have been listened to for a certain amount of time. And what it's telling me is that
Everybody loves a business focused episode. Now I did say at the start of season two that this season was dedicated to or more focused on the education side of being a mom that is exercising or training moms. But I also want to respond to the people that are listening and what is most popular. So what I'm going to be doing is mixing up.
the technical based episodes, still bringing in some beautiful guests, talking about all the things pre and postnatal, being a mom, everything around that. And also bringing back some of the business focused episodes. So that's what I'm going to be doing today. And today's episode is focused on the reasons why your fitness business for moms is not working. And I love a topic like this because
There's a number of reasons why what you're doing in your business might not be feeling right. Why it might not be getting the returns that you'd actually like to get out there in your business and in your life. And there's a few fundamental steps that I believe every fitness business and especially every fitness business that is focused on looking after moms and is run by a mom because we've got so many other things pulling us in different directions.
that it's not only whether the business feels like it's not working, it can also be that the business doesn't feel like it's working for my life. Therefore running this business feels too hard. And there's a few different elements to that as well when we start to talk about consider time and our values and you know, whether it's taking us away from our children and all of that kind of stuff. So let's dig into
Jen (02:22.264)
today's episode on reasons why your fitness business for moms is not working. And we're to go through five different reasons. What I would love from you guys is if you've listened to this episode, I would love you to post it on your social media, on Instagram, or if you don't feel like posting or don't want to post publicly, please send me the parts that you resonate with. Is there one of these five points that you go,
That was really it for me. I've completely missed the mark on that inside my business and I'm going to do better and I'm going to change things because I know that those trainers out there that do fully commit to being the gold standard in trainer that looks after moms are the ones that are really, really passionate about it. Yes, there's the money side and we do need to make sure we're considering money because money is really important when you're running a business.
but you're doing this because it comes from your heart. You're doing this because you've either had an experience that you don't want any other mom to go through, or you're so passionate about changing the landscape that the fitness industry is when it comes to working with moms, that you really don't want to not do what you're doing, but sometimes you question yourself and sometimes you wonder whether this thing is sustainable and whether you can.
continue to move forward with it. I wanna be here and say you absolutely can. I've seen people go from ready to throw in the towel to building these businesses up on new foundations and with some of these five mistakes or points or reasons all ironed out and they've gone on to build the business that they always wanted to do to have the impact that they wanted to have in their community and life is good. Not always easy, but life is good. So let's dive into
Reason number one, that your fitness business for moms may not be working. This goes back to your values. And I've talked about values many, many times before. If you want to hear more on values, go back to season one. They're definitely, definitely in there. But if you're building a fitness business and you don't understand...
Jen (04:39.606)
your whole life values and I say whole life because I don't mean just your business values. So one of the mistakes a lot of businesses make or a lot of business owners make is they set values for their business. And that's great because it tells us, know, what we stand for inside our business and, and what the direction that we want to go. But often our business values can put us in complete conflict with our values at home or values with our family.
So I align with the concept that there are no two separate lots of values when you're the business owner. You may have values that you put out to your team, but again, I would say that the values that you operate by are naturally gonna flow through to your team and your clients and things like that. So we wanna get you to a point where you understand your two, ideally two, get it down to about five to begin with, your two whole life values.
when we talk about whole life values, we want to make sure we include every area of life. So yes, we have our business, but then we also have our financial wellbeing. And that is our whole financial wellbeing, not our business wellbeing. We have our family and close relationships being our children and extended family or immediate family. We have love and romance. So that's with your partner. We also have
spirituality or religion if that's something that's important to you or you know good values and then you've got your own health and well -being in that mix as well. So when you're thinking about your life, your whole life values, think about words and values that work for you in all the spaces. So for example, one of my values is connection.
So I'm constantly thinking about is the value of connection. Am I showing up in a way that connects me to my business, my clients, the people that work with me inside the business. And when I'm doing that, is that working in harmony with my family? And really at this stage in my children's kind of age, it's if I'm
Jen (06:57.376)
trying to connect with people within inside my business whilst trying to juggle my children, it doesn't really work. And if you are a business owner with really young children, you'll probably feel this a lot. You feel that conflict when you're trying to work on your business, but you've got a toddler pulling at your leg. So it's when you have a value of connection. And I remember way back, back when, my little people, my big little people now were little, this value of connection,
really showed up for me when my business started to interrupt the time that I wanted to spend with my children. So for example, I launched a part of my business at one point that was catering for pregnant moms. And when can pregnant moms train? They can train of an evening. And I had made this decision really early on in my business that I would...
work mornings and I'd be away from my children in the mornings, but I would always be home at night. So then when I launched this program, I don't know what I was thinking. It was great program, but it did not align. Every single evening that I had to then leave my kids again to go out for work, it did not feel good. And when we're thinking about how we know we're out of alignment with our values, we can think of something called trigger feelings. Now our trigger feelings or trigger feelings for me are things like resentment, anger, frustration.
yelling at my kids is not a trigger feeling, but it's a trigger action. And I was feeling resentful every single time I had to go and do those evening training sessions. So for me, I had to make this really brave decision to cancel that program when it came to its end because it was interrupting the value of connection with my children. And you know what? It was also impacting the connection I had with those clients because I would spend the whole day dreading that session. I'd love the clients, but absolutely dread doing that session. So I
probably wasn't showing up as my best self apart from the fact that I like to be embedded about 8 .30. So knowing your values is a really, really, really important part of running a business. They are your true North. I've spoke to trainers before that are like, I've ran this big business before and it didn't feel good. I got burnt out. It's like, okay, cool. Let's backtrack and understand your values.
Jen (09:14.166)
And then what we can do if we know our values, that person or you can never create a business that gets you to a point of burnout again, because now you have your values, you can check in every step of the way and understand whether you're, know, you're feeling good or not feeling good about what is going on. And I like to say with the values, obviously business,
You know, it goes up and down. We have times of very busyness and I'm about to go into one of those times at the moment and then we have times where we can relax. So there's times in your business where your values will tip very hard in one direction, but it's can you tip it back again or is it constantly tipped in a direction that doesn't feel good? And if it's constantly tipped in that direction, then you get to change things and your values will always, always keep you on track.
I have a values downloads. If anybody would like to get their hands on that, head over to Instagram and shoot me a DM that says, Jen, send me your values worksheet and I'll absolutely get that over to you. So that will help there. Reason number two that your fitness business for moms is not working is because you are afraid to own your niche. I'm going to let that land for a second. You are afraid
to own the niche of standing up and saying that you're only marketing to mums.
Jen (10:46.464)
If we were in a room together, I'd say who feels afraid to niche down when it feels like by doing that, they're cutting all these people out of the marketplace. I've had this conversation quite a few times with one of our beautiful mastermind mom safe trainers and she was solely focusing on moms. And then what happened for her is more women of other ages and stages started to come into her business. So she changed the name of her business.
to not be moms anymore. then, so she was responding to the market, which I don't know that I agree with, but you know, each to their own. And then now she's trying to build a program and she wants it to be for moms, but she's like, should I say for moms because now I'm not just for moms, but you can be for moms. I guess what I'm trying to get at there is niching down does not cut out the number of clients that you get to work with.
What it does is enable you to cut through the noisy, noisy marketplace that's out there and clearly define who you want to market to or who you want to talk to in everything that you do. So it really creates clarity in what you're doing and how you're doing and how you're talking to people. What I know is that even when you niche down, you will always have people that come to you
that sit outside that inner target, let's call it target if we're thinking about the shapes on the target or the circles on a target. So your target might only look very, very small because you really, really niche down. So for example, my niche is exercise professionals that work with moms that are moms. That is my niche that sits right in the middle of that target. Now we have mom safe trainers that are not moms. We have mom safe trainers that are men.
So when we go to that next circle in our niche or the circle outside, the first circle once removed, shall we say from our niche, they're the people that still relate to you and want to work with you, but they're not the exact niche. So my next circle would be fitness professionals that work with moms that are not moms. Maybe they never will be, maybe they will be down the track. It doesn't really matter. And then outside of that would be fitness professionals that
Jen (13:12.684)
don't work with moms and quite frankly, I'd probably say no, I'm not gonna work with you. But that's the beauty of that extra, the part around that and you know, I have had people come to me and say, Hey Jen, do you do coaching for trainers that don't work with moms? And it's like, well, you're not allowed to come inside mom safe. So you can't be a mom safe trainer.
I can't get access to Mumsafe Academy, but I can do some one -on -one coaching. If I choose I've got time and if I choose that's what I want to do. And I have done that in the past and I can put in all of the learnings and all of the things that we teach inside of Mumsafe, but we can apply it to a different niche. So yes, I have done that, but I get to choose to do that. And none of my marketing, not even a little bit, says or indicates to people.
come and ask me to work with me if or I am for you if you work with any kind of person in the fitness industry. And that is the same for you. So if your marketing is only talking to moms, you're going to cut through so much noise and it's incredibly important because the fitness industry is a busy, busy place.
And if you want to become known as the gold standard and the go -to fitness business for moms, you have to own that niche. Yeah, you have to own the niche. And then you can start to think about, you know, what will I do if a woman comes to me that doesn't have children and you get the choice to work with them because they will come. And then the husbands of the women will come as well. So again, you get to choose whether you want to work with that person.
So standing out in the marketplace leads me to point number three or reason number three, why your fitness business for moms is not working right now. And that is that your brand does not stand out.
Jen (15:10.836)
you need your brand to be memorable. And there's a couple of ways I'm going to go into this in this podcast episode. So way number one is does your brand name, now you know that you're going to own your niche, does your brand name speak directly to your niche? So does your brand name speak directly to moms? Now you don't have to have a brand name or a business name that speaks directly to moms.
but it's gonna make your life so much easier. So for example, I used to have a business called, before I was body beyond baby back in the day, my business was fine form personal training. Now I could have taken fine form personal training and moved it into fine form fitness for moms or fine form personal training for moms or something along those lines.
But instead of doing that, when I decided that I wanted to niche down and only work with moms, I changed my business name to Body Beyond Baby. It's very, very obvious that a brand like Body Beyond Baby speaks to moms. Our brand was orange. It was a standout color. Orange is a bright color. And we used to be known as that orange moms group in Centennial Park. Now had my brand color been black,
I don't know that we would have stood out as much and had I been fine form, personal training for moms and I'd been black as in the black like a black branding color or a gray or a cream or something a little bit more bland. I don't know that that would have stood out and had the impact that Body Beyond Baby did have. We did have a tagline but we didn't have fancy tagline again. We had Body Beyond Baby group exercise with nannies. I did once have someone say,
you do group exercise just for nannies? And I was like, no, we do group exercise and we have on -site nannies. So then I started to adapt my language in places with on -site childcare. But anyway, just a side note. So have a think and really consider the brand and the image and the colors that you're putting out into the world. Are they memorable?
Jen (17:23.22)
Are people going to say when you're at a party or someone else is at a party going, yeah, I need to find, I'm a mom, I wanna do some fitness. And even if this person doesn't know you, is their friend gonna be able to say, I walked through this orange group. It's an orange mom's group in Centennial Park. And it's all moms running around and they've got childcare and all this kind of thing. You need to go check them out, they look really good. They're not going to remember you if you don't have a brand that speaks directly to moms.
This comes into play as well when you get your car branded, which is a action that I highly recommend that you do if you're a local fitness business for moms, because your car goes everywhere. And especially if you have young children, it's at the, it's a daycare, it's all the activities that you do, it's at school pickup or wherever it may be. And if you have a car that is memorably, is that even a word, is a memorable brand, people are going to remember it when it's driving around.
So go and have a look at Motivate Mums. So Motivate Mums is obviously a really clear name for Mums Fitness. has a pink, she's pink, she's pink and black, but she's pink. She used to have the most amazing van. She doesn't have the van anymore, but the car that she now has is also branded with Motivate Mums.
She wears her pink hat everywhere. She wears her pink t -shirts everywhere, her pink jumpers everywhere. So she is very clearly the pink mom's fitness group in the Sunshine Coast or in Budroom, which is where she is. So go check him out. Give her a follow on Instagram and yeah, let her know, let her know that you listened to this episode and we were talking about her. Okay, so now we've got three reasons why your fitness business for moms potentially isn't working right now. So number one, you don't know your values. You don't know what you stand for. You don't know what you're trying to create. It's just a big.
big old mess in your brain and you don't know where to put your priorities. Number two, you're afraid to own your own niche and that really does come down to scarcity, doesn't it? Because if we're afraid to niche down in our brain, we're going, well, if I niche down, there's not enough people. But what we know is when we niche down, we cut through and we talk to more of the right people. And number three so far is that your brand doesn't stand out. It's just a little bit bland in a sea of all of the other brands. Okay.
Jen (19:40.194)
Reason number four that your fitness business for moms is not working is that you do not know your numbers. It's not sexy, it's not fun. Although having said that, I love looking at a spreadsheet. I've got an appointment with my accountant tomorrow and I absolutely love those appointments now that I understand my numbers. But back in the day, back in the kind of early days of Running Body Beyond Baby or the days where I was starting to make a significant financial impact,
in my own life or I thought I was, I didn't know my numbers. So many of you will have heard this story before, but I went two years in a row where I didn't understand my numbers or wasn't watching what was going on in my business to the point at which a $200 ,000 business was giving to me a taxable income of $16 ,000. And I did that for two years in a row. That was when I was in that, what I wanted to go into a growth phase.
I wanted to bring trainers into the business. I thought that working on the business made me more successful than working in the business. And I wanted to open up all these locations. And what actually happened was I paid all these people to open the locations and do the things. And I wasn't watching the money going out of the business. I was watching what was coming in and that felt nice. But what I was, I wasn't watching what was going out. Now there might be a bunch of you sitting there going, Jen, I can't even make 200 or $2 ,000 a week, let alone $200 ,000 a year.
And what I would say to you is it is just as important for you to know your numbers at the start of your business journey as it is when you start to make money. If not even more important, because at the beginning of your business, if you don't know how much money that you have the potential of earning, how much your income is, how much your expenses are, how much you get to take home, how much you...
you and your family or you and your partner have decided that you need to contribute or you'd like to contribute towards life, then it's very hard to keep going when you think that it's not going very well. And this can happen a lot, especially with our moms. And I'll go back to our values because sometimes we can feel like we don't have any time to spend on our business.
Jen (21:57.582)
So we don't spend time on the business because we feel like we'll do it when we've got more time to spend on the business. So you stop moving forward. Now time and energy or the time that you spend on something compounds. So the fact that you've only got an hour a week doesn't actually matter because if you have an hour a week over 52 weeks of the year, you've now got 52 hours to move you from where you are right now to 52 hours further in front of where you started. If you think that that hour is a waste of time,
then you're still at in 52 weeks time, you're still at zero hours spent on your business and you're still at zero income spent on your business. When you start to understand your numbers, you can really start to know the action steps that are gonna get you closer to make your business feasible and your bit of feasible business when you're a fitness business working for moms that doesn't have overheads and doesn't have a studio space and doesn't have all of these things.
is a very, very, very achievable thing to do. It's probably probably going to need about 500 bucks a week to break even if that in the early days. So it's a very low risk business to start. But because it's a low risk business to start, sometimes we have these mindsets that are also quite small. And we need to shift that mindset into I can run a profitable business that meets my expenses.
because I know what my expenses are. And then I know how many clients I need to get and I know how much I need to charge them to turn this break even business into a profitable business that contributes towards my life and my family's life and the wellbeing of my children. The other thing I see when it comes to numbers is people just picking prices out of thin air just going, well the person down the road is charging that so I figured I would charge that too.
And what they haven't looked at is the values to understand how much time they want to spend working in their business. So they've not worked out if the price point that they've chosen aligns with the amount of time that they want to spend in their business. And what I mean by that is if you've only got 10 hours a week to spend in your business, but you want to earn $5 ,000 a week, it's not going to serve you to run 10 hours of group training sessions at
Jen (24:24.238)
$20 a session with, I don't know, 10 people per session. That's not gonna hit $5 ,000. You could run five group sessions a week at $30 a session. And then you could look at where the gap is between those five sessions and the $5 ,000 that you wanna earn and then go, okay, I've got five more hours. What am I gonna do with these hours? And I'm talking face to face time when I'm talking hours to make up that gap. So for someone like yourself, it could be well,
I'm going to develop a high end coaching program where I'm going to charge a thousand dollars a month. And I want three of those clients. now, sorry, a thousand dollars, yeah, a thousand dollars a month. And I want maybe more than more of those. If it's a thousand dollars a month, you need X amount of clients to get you to that point. Hopefully you're getting the message. So when we understand our numbers, we can create a jigsaw and it's a really kind of fun thing to do and look at what we're doing now.
with the hours that we're working and the amount of money that we're earning. Now, if that sits right, we continue to do it. If it doesn't sit right and we want to earn more or we want to reduce our hours and get paid the same amount of money, then we get to play with those jigsaw pieces again, play with the numbers because we understand the numbers and create the next step in our plan. The other thing that you can do is when if you're right at the start of your business, you can take a stepping stone approach throughout the year to get to where you want to be.
in 12 months time. So for example, if at the start of the 12 months, you're running two sessions a week, 10 people per session, charging $20 per session, that's gonna earn you, I'm trying to do the maths now off the top of my head, I should have worked this out before. So two sessions a week, 10 people per session, $20 a session, that's $400 a session times two, that's $800. You can call me out if I'm wrong, but we're gonna call it $800. That's gonna be $800 a week by running two sessions a week.
Now, if we want to, we could launch with that because we don't want to launch with too many class options because we want to fill up our classes. Then when they're full, we want to launch another one. We can start to build a wait list once we've launched the classes and filled them up. And then we can launch the classes in, in term two. Now, if we're running those two sessions a week in term one, we can then look forward to turn two and go, and we can project ahead because we know our numbers and we know what we're charging and go in term.
Jen (26:50.35)
to if I have four sessions a week, I'm gonna be earning two times 800, $600 a week in that, I've doubled it, haven't I? I've doubled the numbers, but that doesn't matter. You get the gist. You can project ahead and go, this is how much I'm gonna be earning in term two. And then if you think you can go more on top of that, you can go term three. You can then add another line in there and go, when I'm first starting out, I wanna run five PT sessions a week. Or maybe you're gonna go, when I'm first starting, I'm gonna run 10 PT sessions a week.
next to my two group training sessions, because when I run 10 PT sessions a week, I charge $100 per session, that is $1 ,000. But what I want to do over time is reduce that 10 hours of PT to more groups, because I know I can earn more money when I run one group. But you can change the way, you know, your time and energy are spent only when you understand your numbers. The other thing I'll say about numbers is if you feel like you're in a really, really shitty
spot in your business and you're ignoring it and you know that you're not making enough money and you know that you don't really understand where the money's coming in and you know that you don't really understand how much money's going out but you're just hoping it's going to get better. I can promise you it's not going to get better until you take a really big deep breath and commit to looking at what's in front of you, understanding what's in front of you and then accepting where you're at and then creating a
plan for change. And I've worked with a number of Mumsafe trainers who have done or been through this exact process. If you want to listen to a really great one, go back to episode, season one and listen to my episode with Amanda Comerford made an absolutely huge 180 in her business. It didn't happen overnight. And there was a lot of ups and downs and a lot of doubt and then a lot of, you know, persistence and motivation to move through. And she did so.
If you want to get ahead in your business, you need to know your numbers and I can promise you that until you know them, your business is not going to be able to do what it is capable of. I was just thinking, I also have a resource that is maybe a spreadsheet. I have a resource around knowing your numbers and your financial spreadsheets. If you'd like to get your hands on that, shoot me a DM via Instagram. So I'm at Jen Dugard and I will also send that to you. Okay.
Jen (29:15.948)
Reason number five that your fitness business for moms is not working is because you are trying to do it alone.
There's nothing worse than running a business, sitting behind your computer, having all these thoughts in your head, having no one to talk to. You might try and talk to your partner or your friend, but they don't really understand. And then going round in circles inside of your business, just hoping that you're doing the right thing. It becomes absolutely exhausting. The other thing that I find that people do when they're working alone is they don't
stick to a plan. So what they will do is they will try one thing. So for example, maybe they'll try, I don't know, going out and giving out flyers, and they'll give out 10 flyers, or maybe they'll give out 100 flyers, and nobody will come and work to work with them, or no one will acquire with them off the back of the flyers. So they'll go, that didn't work. I'm not doing that again. So now they'll, they'll see something else and someone else on social media is saying,
To build your fitness business, you need to go and give talks in a, I don't know, place where moms hang out. So you're like, cool, this month, I'm gonna go and give talks. I'm gonna do three talks this month, or maybe you just do one, because three feels hard. And no one comes to work with you off the back of that talk. So now you've decided that the talk didn't work. That was shit, you're not gonna do it again. It took a lot of energy, it took a lot of effort, and it just really didn't feel like it was worth it.
And then you see that Facebook advertising is the way to go and Facebook advertising is going to help you to grow your fitness business. And maybe you get a lot of a lot of leads come through to begin with. So let's say you get 55 leads and you call every single one of them and only let's say only 10 people answer the phone and only two people come to a trial session, only one person signs up. So then you decide that Facebook advertising is shit and you're not doing it again.
Jen (31:18.956)
This is the cycle and it could be a bunch of other things along the way that I find that fitness business owners that want to work with moms fall into when they're going in alone because there is no one standing there saying to them, it's not one thing. You can't do one thing and expect for it to be the magic bullet to fix your business and to be overflowing with leads.
You need to be surrounded by a community that understands that it isn't one thing, that it's the layering of those things that is going to move you forward in your business and is going to lead to your ultimate success. So you need a community that says to you, awesome, you went out and you gave those flyers out, go out every single week on that same day or do...
15 minutes flyering either side of your training sessions or if you've not started training people yet, go and give out flyers in the location that you want to train people at the time that you're to train people and then go do it again and go do it again and go do it again and just becomes part of your week. And when you've got your head around doing that and it's part of your week, now you're going to commit to doing one presentation to moms a week and you're going to feel like it's shit and you're to feel like it's hard work and you're going to get nervous and all those things. But this community around you is going to go
You can do it. You've got this. You actually can call someone and say, Hey, I really want to come in and help support the moms in your community and help them to understand what safe and effective exercise is because no one is telling them that stuff. Could I come and give that information to the moms? And they'll go, yeah, sure. We'd love that. And you do it and no one comes to you off the back of that, but you now know that you need to do it again and again and again. And then you run a Facebook ad and please with Facebook ads, let's just do them last.
There's so many other things. So I picked out two there, but there's so many other things that you can do that create organic leads in your business. And that start to define you as the gold standard and the go -to trainer for moms in your community. And that is the ultimate goal that you yourself.

become known as the go -to trainer for moms in your community and that you are surrounded by a community of fellow exercise professionals who get it as well because you're going to have ups and downs. You're going to go crazy at home in your own brain. You're going to have times that you want to celebrate and there's nothing better.
than posting in a group and going, hey, I just did this. I just gave out 10 flyers and I've been avoiding it. Or I just gave my first talk at this group or I just did an expo and I talked to all these moms as they were passing by and have person upon person upon person to come and cheer you on. And not only that, when you get stuck and you have a community around you, you create that same post and you ask for help. And not only that.
When you have a community around you, it's not just about taking and it's not just about getting things from that community, you get to give. And I think that every single exercise professional that works with moms is a giver. They want to see moms do better and they want to give and collaborate with and support other exercise professionals that work with moms and mostly are moms too around them because they get it.
All of the moms and all of the trainers inside of the mom safe community understand how fucking hard it is to run a business. They understand the juggle. They understand that some weeks are just shit and you can't do anything. They understand how much we need to celebrate when we do those awesome things. So if you're trying to do this alone, I can pretty much say that is one of the reasons that your fitness business for moms is not working.
So find a tribe and I'd love you to join the Mumsafe tribe when it feels right for you. Find a tribe that gets you, that'll have your back, that'll raise you up and that will make sure that you are looked after every single step of the way. So there are my five reasons why your fitness business for mums is not working. Let's go through them again. We've got number one. We do have number one. I'm just trying to read it. Number one.
Jen (35:40.93)
Your fitness business for moms is not working because you do not understand your whole life values. Get your values sorted out and you will have your true north. You'll know the direction you're going and you'll be able to make those tough decisions when they come up. Number two, you're afraid to own your niche. Let's stand out there, own that space of working with moms. We need your voice. Don't compare yourself to other people. Don't worry about saying that you only work with moms. Stand strong in that. Do the qualifications.
Get all the things that you need and stand strong in your niche that you are specializing in working with moms. Number three, your brand doesn't stand out. So let's turn that on its head. Make that brand stand out. Be brave enough to change your business name if you feel like that's what you need to do. Be brave enough to relaunch your brand colors and all the rest of it if that's what you feel like you need to do. But make sure that you are memorable in your community and you speak directly to moms.
Number three, you don't know your numbers. Sorry, that's number four. don't know my numbers. Number four, you don't know your numbers. Make it your mission that by the end of the month, you have a profit and loss spreadsheet, you have a projection spreadsheet, you understand why you've chosen the price points you have in your business, what your capacity is with your train with your clients, and how
your capacity times your price is your maximum amount of income that you can make at the moment. Knowing that is important and then look at the amount of hours you're working and does it make sense? And if it doesn't, let's fix that. The other thing I didn't mention before around that is if you've got another job that you want to move out of, you can slowly watch the income that you need to replace is here and then the other income starts to build up. And then when you've got just enough, can hedge your bets and jump, take the leap. You can take that income away, make it.
create more time and then you can earn more income in your fitness business. And number five, the fifth reason why your fitness business for moms is not working is that you are doing everything alone. You don't have a cheer squad behind you. This weekend or by the time you listen to this episode, we will have just finished up our mom safe trainer retreat for the year. It's such an incredible weekend. I wish I could share that with everybody.
